It is now close to two
years that Bohemian Rhapsody won the Oscars in 2018, and time to relive the
magical time we spent at Montreux, Switzerland with which Freddie Mercury had
such enduring association during the last part of his life.
Born Farrokh Balsara in 1946 to
Indian-origin Parsi parents in Zanzibar and later founding the band Queen, Freddie, who has been
described as “one of the greatest lead singers in the history of rock music” rewrote
the rock scene of the early ‘70s. He kept coming back to Montreux time and again,
and when the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came our way to visit Switzerland once again in 2017, Sambuddha meticulously planned a Montruex visit, little knowing, however,
that the making of Bohemian Rhapsody was already well under way and that it
would soon be opening to rave reviews!
